In the presence of the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Robert Weber, the President of the Chamber of Commerce Dr. Nina Drakić and the President of the German Business Club in Montenegro (DMW) Aleksandra Popović signed an Agreement on Cooperation on April 27.
The aim of the Agreement is to establish cooperation in order to achieve common interests and goals, primarily in the field of tourism, energy and energy efficiency, digital transformation of business, finance, industrial and agricultural production, trade and construction. The Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro and the German-Montenegrin Business Club, through the transfer of knowledge, experience and best practices, will strive to contribute to resolving issues relevant to their work.
As stated in the Agreement, the subject of cooperation relates to the improvement of the business environment in Montenegro, in order to attract more German and other foreign investments; connecting German businessmen with economic factors operating in Montenegro as well as forwarding information on investment opportunities in Montenegro; conducting analyzes and research within the scope of competence of the signatory parties; joint organization of round tables, seminars, lectures and other gatherings of common interest; participation in professional gatherings organized by one of the signatory parties; publishing publications, manuals, brochures and the like; joint establishment of cooperation with other organizations, institutions and persons in the country and abroad;
According to President Nina Drakić, PhD, cooperation with the German Business Club is another contribution to strengthening economic ties between the two countries, which are inherited through partnerships between Montenegrin and German chambers.
I believe that we can additionally attract capital from Germany. We especially see opportunities for new investments in green energy and tourism, where we expect an increase in the number of German guests – said Drakic and presented to the interlocutors the Chamber’s plans to develop new services that will further facilitate business in the coming period.
Ambassador Robert Weber believes that with the establishment of the German Business Club, companies from that country have gained a strong voice in Montenegro.
I see the German Business Club as a strong pillar of support for the Montenegrin economy and a contribution to strengthening ties between business communities. Decision-makers need the support of the economy, and to be aware of the needs of the Montenegrin business community and foreign investors. You are the one whose voice they should listen to – said Weber, adding that by signing the Agreement, the two associations are sending a strong signal that they want to further contribute to the development of Montenegro.
The President of the German-Montenegrin Business Club, Aleksandra Popović, estimates that this is a very important agreement on cooperation with an important partner such as the PKCG.
We want to create solid bridges in the exchange of visions and ideas that will connect people and projects – she said.
According to her, in Montenegro it is necessary to additionally use the potential for the development of the real economy.
There are people living in Montenegro whose knowledge is valued around the world. We need to use that, because wherever an investor comes from, he will invest better and in the long run in a country that has such potential. Let’s create together – she said.
The signing was attended by the Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce Pavle D. Radovanović, Secretary General Mitar Bajčeta, President of the Assembly of the German-Montenegrin Business Club Milan Marić, Secretary Olivera Brajović and Assistant Ambassador Azra Urbitsch.
